CrossFit classes in English

All classes at CrossFit Leuven are by default taught in Dutch. Our coaches will however hapily switch to English when needed. After all, we have athletes from all around the world working out at our box. Based on the composition of the group the class is taught in Dutch or English… or a combination!

So don’t worry if you don’t speak Dutch, you will feel right at home!

What is CrossFit?

CrossFit is a strength & condition program which combines different styles of exercises in one training. It combines movements from gymnastics, kettlebell training, olympic weightlifting, powerlifting and all sorts of cardio training.

These heterogenous training exercises allow us to excel in the 10 fitness zones:

  1. Cardiovascular/respiratory endurance
  2. Stamina
  3. Strength
  4. Flexibility
  5. Power
  6. Speed
  7. Agility
  8. Balance
  9. Coordination
  10. Accuracy

CrossFit combines all of these all of the time. Our specialty is not to specialize. When you focus on only one of these zones, the others will not get the required attention. By following the CrossFit program, we strive to develop a wide and general body fitness, one that prepares you for any given task at any given moment.

Personal training

Members of CrossFit Leuven train in small groups led by experienced, certified coaches that guide you towards proper and safe workout techniques. Exercises are scaled according to your own technique, strength and experience. Scaling allows all athletes to achieve a similar personal intensity during workouts. CrossFit is therefore beneficial for the experienced athlete as well as for someone trying to get fit after a period of inactivity. Group workouts also make you a part of a community and push you to new levels of personal achievements.

Evidence based fitness

In various countries, such as the USA, Australia and Canada, numerous police, army and firefighter units prefer the CrossFit Program above their traditional training techniques because CrossFit has shown to be more effective, more efficient and safer. The workouts are relatively short, performed at high levels of intensity and results appear quickly. CrossFit consists of non-isolated, full range of motion movements that lower the risk for injuries dramatically!

60 classes per week

We’re open 7 days a weekand offer a total of 60 groupclasses per week. On top of the regular Crossfit classes we also offer endurance, strongman, calisthenics and weightlifting classes.

10 experienced coaches

The 60 classes are taught each week by 10 experienced coaches.

CrossFit Leuven has a great community with 300 members who support you and help you realize your goals. Whatever your level of fitness is, everyone encourages each other and on a everybody strives to better themselves on a daily basis.

Additional information about the different types of classes:

Fundamentals

After completing your ‘No-Sweat’ intro, it’s time for the “Fundamentals” classes. This is where we’ll teach you more about the techniques from the introduction class. You’ll be introduced to most of the basic CrossFit movements and we’ll gradually build up the intensity of the workouts.


Basics

Did you complete the Fundamentals, but are you not sure whether you’re ready for the standard CrossFit classes? Or would you like to work on the different movements and techniques, along with mobility and stretches? In that case, the Basics are perfect for you! These classes will be similar to the standard CrossFit classes, but they will be less intensive and we’ll spend more time on technique.


CrossFit

During the standard CrossFit classes, you’ll be working around strength, mobility, endurance, speed, coordination, and so much more! Not only will you progress on a athletic level, these workouts are also ideal to accelerate fat burning!


Advanced

These CrossFit classes target the more experienced athletes who are looking to perform during competitions. Only athletes who completed our Beginner and Intermediate levels will be allowed to subscribe to these classes.


Endurance

Is your personal goal more aimed towards stamina? In that case, the Endurance classes will be right up your alley. On Mondays, we’ll be planning running classes on the track at KULeuven. On Thursdays, we’ll meet at our box to perform bootcamp styled workouts.


Olympic Lifting

Are you interested in olympic lifting? Or do you want to optimize your technique during workouts? Then you should subscribe to our Olympic Lifting classes! Every first two Sundays of each month are targeted towards beginners.


Strongman

Is cardio less important to you but would you like to be as strong as an ox? Subscribe to our Strongman classes! On Tuesdays and Thursdays, we’ll program strongman and powerlifting exercises to improve strength and mass. On Saturday, an extra long session will be scheduled along with a Medley to maintain stamina.


Mobility

Is your personal squat depth not as low as it should be or do your writs hurt when you perform front squats? During our Mobility classes, we’ll be working around your mobility and flexibility. No workouts will be performed during theses classes, which makes them ideal as active recovery and to work on your weaknesses.


Open Gym

During Open Gym moments, you are free to use our equipment and facilities. These sessions are perfect to work on your personal weaknesses, build up strength or catch up on a workout you might have missed. You won’t be supervised by one of our coaches.
